who knows about tap and die sets? and can advise me…?
i don’t know whether i need to get metric or imperial, but imperial sets seem to have letters such as BSP, UNF and UNC. i don’t know what these mean and don’t wanna get it wrong. can anyone tell me what these letters mean?
is it possible to get a set that has both metric and imperial??

I have a combination set that I have used for over 25 years. The metric side of the set gets regular use but the imperial as you call it I very seldom use. UNF= universal national fine UNC= universal national coarse BSP= don’t know this one, suspect it represents a backward thread or as it is called in the trade, a bastard thread. Be sure that the set you get has a thread gauge to help you determine the size thread that you are working with. Meaning 8mm1.25 or 8mm1.50 the size is 8mm the thread pitch is the second number.
